Des Spencer

As a boy, when Des went fishing he only wanted to catch BIG fish. So what did he do? He'd only ever use a big hook. Other people would use small hooks and catch small fish. However there were many times when Des returned home with nothing. But when Des caught something, it was always a BIG fish. He has since applies this principle when he is seeking potential buyers for his paintings around the world. When he decided to become an artist, he had no intention of becoming a starving artist. He has made a point of going where people will appreciate his paintings. This has required some risk and brazenness on his behalf, but as a result he has been able to achieve his goals and pursue his dreams.

In 1998, Des’ painting appeared on nationally released Telstra Phone Card. In 1999, Des’ painting again appeared on national released Telstra Phone Card.

In 2001 and 2002, Des held three exhibitions in the United States.
