Velia Newman

At the tender age of nine, Velia began her painting career. She has been largely self taught, although her mother Anita Newman, herself a wellknown romantic impressionist artist, provided guidance and great inspiration.

Velia's works are vibrant, bold and colourful in thick textured paint. Her art is freedom of expression, spontaneity of raw energy and emotion. She has a mad passion for colour and texture and wants the people who look at her paintings to feel like they could walk right into the scene.

As a full time artist for the past four years and at this early stage of her painting career her works have had an enormous impact and have an increasing demand. They are represented in many private and corporate collections with wide recognition nationally.
